Bins, bins, and more bins

We now have 5 (yes, 5!) different coloured bins in Angus - , green, purple, grey, blue, and two brown ones inc the little "indoors" caddy that I don't use as it attracts mice. In spite of these 5 lovelies lined up in our garden, we are expected to take our glass - not all types of glass, mind you - to a glass recycling point. AIBU to think that enough is enough? The rubbish sorting rules have got out of hand, and the world is being taken over by BINS!

Scottish Borders - 2 bins

Recycling bin does not take glass so that has to be disposed of
I think you can pay extra to have a garden bin taken

Our bins Grin (We've still to get the grey bins rolled out in my area, which I believe is scheduled for some time in the autumn)

Just as well the brown bins are being collected on Wednesday Grin Both brown bins have been filled by our neighbour as dh had his hip replaced the Friday after the last collection so can't do any gardening for another 11 weeks Shock (and downstairs will have to do all the lawn mowing for the rest of the summer as dh usually does it he actually likes doing it )

Green (general waste) bin is also being picked up on Wednesday but only one of them will need to be put out as it's not even full yet, despite it being 3 weeks since the last collection.

Purple bin is going out on Thursday. Only one of them is nearly full, even though there are 8 weeks between collections.

Every four weeks for us - blue for plastic/cans, red for paper/cardboard, green for general waste. Four weekly garden waste bin too but pay £45 annually for that. Seperate glass bin (two weeks) and food bin (weekly). Calendar notifications on my phone help a lot! Falkirk Council area.

Im sure other councils will move to this frequency soon, so be careful moaning about the 2/3 week cycles! You get used to the every four weeks but really have to work at the recycling. (Also have bigger/extra recycling bins which you can request)

4 bins in Kinross-shire.

Green bin emptied 2 weekly for non recyclable.

Blue bin emptied every 4 weeks for paper and card.

Grey bin for plastic emptied every 4 weeks.

Brown for garden. Needs a permit. Emptied every 2 weeks.

Glass you do yourself.
