Has anyone moved from the south of england or vice versa.

Which would you say offers the better quality of life -

possibly moving to Essex and need perspective

Depends where you want to live. Some areas of Essex are very nice, others are very deprived. Depends what you need for example do you need to commute? Do you want to live somewhere rural, there are many small villages in Essex, or do you want to live in a town or city?

I don’t need to commute. I can buy a nice place in a vibrant area. It’s the overall quality of life I’m interested in.

Then perhaps Chelmsford or Colchester. They both have lots of shops, restaurants, pubs and public transport.

Essex has a lovely climate. Glasgow is verdant green for a reason 😂

I have friends in Chelmsford . It is nice ( with some rougher bits); pretty easy to get trains into London or further East. Quick run to the channel crossings.

Its very busy ( but I am in Aberdeenshire, and Glasgow seems heaving to me too)
Depends on the reasons for your choice really.

Some parts of Essex are very green. There are a lot of villages and farmland. Yes, the climate is good, there's relatively little rain.

Essex is very big and varied. Is there a reason you have picked Essex and if so, which part?

Drier and sunnier.

But crap if you like mountains and lochs.
