Looking for recommendations for a nice restaurant around the Murrayfield area please 😊 Happy to walk about 30 mins any direction but would rather avoid heading into the city centre.

Any cuisine other than seafood 😊

Is this for before the Taylor Swift gig by any chance? If so, I suspect your options might be somewhat limited!!
First Coast on Dalry Road (not all seafood, despite the name)
Cool Jade Chinese opposite the zoo on the A8
The Fountain pub at Fountainbridge
Ronaq Indian on Craigleith Road (probably pushing the boundary of 30minute walk)

Ive heard good things about Dine, on Murrayfield Place.

Chinese Manor House in Corstorphine was good last time we were there but you’d need to bus it to Murrayfield if this is for TS. It’s just that bit far to walk. The Dunstane is a lovely hotel. Food is good. That’s at Roseburn.

There are food options at the Gyle but that’s the usual shopping centre type food court places.

When you say nice you could try a Norton House Hotel or Dalmahoy.

norton house a d dalmahoy are beyond a 30 mins walk.

@MiddleAgedDread @Chemenger @flyingwingsabove
Thanks all 😊 it is for before TS but at 12ish rather than later on. There’s only 2 of us so hoping they might be able to squeeze us in somewhere 🤞🏼😅

There are a couple of Japanese places on Dalry road (Miju and Umai) and Pizzeria 1926 is good. Locanda di Gusti is nice as is Frist. Last mentioned above. The Torfin in Corstorphine seems to be doing something Taylor Swift themed if that’s where you are going (have never been) and it appears to involve a shuttle bus to Murrayfield.

Coughsweet · 03/06/2024 18:41

First Coast that should have said

Coughsweet · 03/06/2024 18:41

There is also Dine Craiglockhart which will be at the end of your 30 minute limit but it’s nice and they might still have space.

RoséProsecco · 03/06/2024 20:45

You could try the Torfin in Corstorphine but guessing it will be booked up already.

PossumintheHouse · 03/06/2024 20:50

Umai on Dairy Road and Chizuru Tei on Morrison Street are both excellent Japanese restaurants. Even though it's for a lunch date, you still might struggle with a booking. Worth a call.

Thank you all 😊 I’ll look up menus and have a phone round today and see about a table 😊
