Will the Tory proposal for changing PIP affect people claiming ADP in Scotland?

Do we think the changes to PIP which the Tories are proposing for England will spill over to changes in Adult Disability Payment in Scotland? I don't claim though I know lots of people that do and am just wondering whether there will be any change of policy up here. People that I have contact in Scotland certainly aren't worried that there will be a change to their situation.

I thought since devolution Scotland sorted out it's own benefits criteria which is more generous than the UK. I know Carers get much more recognised for the job they do. Once Scotland gets a new First Minister I'd expect them to decide. Sunak is now proposing a 6 tier payment policy based on GP's working out how much additional cost a person with disability might have. Many use payments to pay for a carer or a cleaner a couple of times a week as they can't do it themselves. I don't think it will come to anything because Sunak is thankfully on his way out. Labour will have to sort out the mess he leaves. The budget for PIP has spiralled though and looks to spiral ever higher. If waiting lists were shorter people could get seen and get help quicker. That might reduce the pressure. My sister has been on the waiting list for her op for 16 months. She's lucky her DH does everything for her so she hasn't made a claim. If she lived alone she'd have to.

It's a "proposal" and the the Tories are going to be out at general election if everyone puts their effort into getting behind Labour

It won't affect anyone, wherever they live in UK as they won't be power to implement it.

Even if they did get back in, which is really not looking possible.

ADP are already completely different from PIP anyway.
