Hi there,

We are looking to buy a house near to my child’s school in Glasgow south side. Any idea what people are paying over valuation atm? Don’t want to bid too high 😬

Recent experience from Kilmarnock, house o/o £82.5, home report valuation £90, sold at £90.

But that's not Glasgow southside!

Your solicitor will be the best source of advice on what to bid, in my experience of buying in Scotland.

Offered on a house in East Dunbartonshire at closing date a couple of weeks ago . Offer was almost 20% over HR, we were second … It sold in a week 😱 It varies so much from area to area , it’s hard to advise. You just have to take the plunge and work out what it’s worth to you. We were very disappointed not to get this one and with hindsight would’ve actually offered more ! It’s a risk you take with offers over in Scotland, but try to think of it as you’re buying a home , and how much that means to you when putting in an offer.
Good luck, it’s a nightmare
