Carrick Knowe primary school

We are about to relocate to Edinburgh from abroad. We have set our eyes in a property in Carrick Knowe and are aware of school catchment areas.

We are wondering about the primary school. We have seen some areas of the catchment are nice and others OK. So I guess what we would like to know are opinions from local residents about the area and the school. If children enjoy attending to their school and overall environment.

Carrick Knowe feeds into Forrester High which had its inspection from January published last week from Education Scotland and it wasn't good. It's not the school my children left 4/6 years ago. It could turn around again.

Carrick Knowe has a lovely nursery. Friends with children there are happy with the school.

The area has recently had a blooming LTN put in which is causing chaos with traffic.

I don't live in Carrick Knowe itself but across the road in a sense. It's a nice area which is why we are reluctant to move.

That's good to know, thanks. Although a bit soon to think about secondary school😅 by then we guess we would have moved again.
