Hello im bringing my 6 year old to Edinburgh on the train this week for a day out. I was looking for ideas on somewhere to take her for lunch in the city centre around princes street? Rather than the usual mcdonalds lol x

The St James Quarter has a great choice of places to eat and is very near Waverley Station 😊https://stjamesquarter.com/

St James Quarter Edinburgh

Shop, dine, play, and stay in our incredible lifestyle quarter, right in the heart of Edinburgh city centre.

Stack and Still pancake restaurant on Rose Street. What 6 year old doesn't eat pancakes

Taste of Italy - lovely Italian cafe with best garlic bread and outstanding ice cream sundaes one block on from Omni centre (opposite John Lewis street side). Good value too. Big favourite of my kids when young.

The cauldron looks really cool for kids and adults alike! I keep saying I’ll take my wee ones but never seem to get round to it. It’s not on princes street but not too far away.
