Elderly mum wants to relocate close to Glasgow. Ideas?

My mum is elderly (80+) and is looking to move closer to Glasgow, or somewhere with good transport links into town.

She is still mobile, but aware that she may not be able to continue to drive in future. she currently lives rurally in family home. Selling it will give her enough for a two bed flat closer to city, but not West end.

Any suggestions for places with nice ground floor flat, good transport links, amenities nearby that is reasonably affordable?

I haven't lived in Bearsden but have thought that it's lovely when I've visited. I don't know if these would be within the right price bracket though.

Largs.

It's less than an hour on the train to Glasgow and is a seaside town. Lots of lovely cafes, hairdressers etc.

This is first floor but with a lift (and already sold ) but shows the sort of place you can get in Shawlands. It's right beside Pollok Park (residents gave their own private fare into the park). close to Shawlands and all its coffee shops and close to bus and rail services.

A retired friend and her dh has recently moved there having downsized. It took them a few attempts to get a flat they liked there (were outbid on a few), having identified that the location met all their criteria. She's very happy with the move.
