Murrayfield Stadium concert question

My daughter really loved Taylor Swift and we didn't get tickets. I am wondering about staying with relatives one of the nights she is In Edinburgh and going down to Murrayfield and hanging out somewhere nearby, one the parks maybe...so we can at least hear some of it?! Is this possible does anyone know??

Yup, roseburn park is right outside the stadium. It’ll be fun if the weather is good. I did that for Beyoncé last year and it was raining but there were still people there with BBQs!

@Hapagirl48 oh thanks! I did wonder if it might be like that...would wait and see what weather is like and decide from there 🙂

In the past we have gone there with discreet carry outs (classy) before attending rock concerts. Always a very fun safe atmosphere. I think that would be a great experience for a die hard fan who didn’t get a ticket.

Me and DD are planning to do exactly that! i think looking at the footage from outside her concerts in america that a lot of us will be there

Sofarlatedo · 02/02/2024 18:33

I’m planning on doing this with my young Swifties too! Just realised the park is next to the stadium, I hope there will be a good atmosphere if there are a few of us!

Fluffycloudsfloatinginthesky · 02/02/2024 20:08

Lads of people did this is the US. We have tickets for night 2 at anfield and my daughter wants to hang around outside on night 1. I am less keen.

Just bear in mind that it will be incredibly busy. Plan ahead with your transport options for getting away form the stadium later, you are unlikely to get parking anywhere near by and all the trams are geared up for getting people inside the stadium away quickly. I'm not sure how the barriers will work but it might be difficult getting to the tram stops.

MuchasSmoochas · 04/02/2024 11:03

Loads were outside Murrayfield for Harry Styles, looked like great fun. The Swifties are good people, the atmosphere in Edinburgh is going to be amazing all weekend. Yes don’t rush your travel but I think you will feel safe and really enjoy it.

I used to live near Murrayfield and it was bad enough on concert days as it was, without loads of extra people coming to hang out in the park! I can understand doing it if you're local but travelling to do it seems a bit bonkers.

I've been to concerts at Murrayfield and would say the transport/walking system was pretty well organised with barriers in place for those walking and those catching teams, trains, etc. We stayed just off Princes Street and walked back to the hotel, it did help that the weather was beautiful, it was like being abroad it was so hot and the atmosphere in Edinburgh was electric with thousands o happy concert goers.

On a similar note- does anyone know if there is such a thing as a 'merch truck' at Murrayfield and could you reach it without a ticket?

GellerYeller · 04/02/2024 14:16

They usually have merch trucks before you go through the ticket holders gates and then more inside at stadiums if this helps. Huge money spinner for them so I imagine it will be the same at Murrayfield. Be prepared for a long queue though. Good luck 💐

This is exactly what I'm doing for my daughter, driving up, I've paid for a space and she wants to be able to hear her sing

You've paid for a space in the park??

stonkytonk11 · 13/03/2024 22:19

@Wheresthescissors parking space I presume...

That would, of course, make more sense!

Dabralor · 13/03/2024 22:31

I used to do this when I was at school, it's great fun.
Will it be utterly rammed 😬? How busy was it for harry styles?

WibblyWobblyWeeble · 15/03/2024 11:07

V busy for Harry, plus looked like a fraggle massacre because of all the feathers.
I was in the stadium but saw photos after.
Apparently you could hear, " Leave America", from 2 miles away.
I'd definitely go if I was a Swiftie.

Swiftmob · 15/03/2024 11:12

If it’s not raining, it’ll be absolutely mobbed, know several planning to do this. The tickets are so expensive and hard to get so a lot of people will be trying to participate in some way.

Swiftdaddy · 07/05/2024 21:50

I purchased two standing tickets for the Eras tour in Edinburgh so I could take my daughter. I didn’t realise she couldn’t stand so I now need to swap standing tickets for seated tickets. Can anyone help? Tickets are for the Friday night and I will transfer them.
