George Heriots S1 entrance assessment

I have a child entering the GH S1 assessment in January 24 and wondered if anyone had any experience of the creative writing section. I know they get some kind of “starter” idea but I wondered I anyone has more recent experience or a little more general detail?

I don’t have recent experience, but one of the things children should understand is how to structure a story ensuring good beginning, middle and end - Google story mountain or structure. Might give your child more confidence going in to it. It might also be a good idea to check your child’s understanding of basic grammar and even sentence construction to see if he needs a bit of practice before the test.
