Hogmanay in a hotel

We're just heading home after spending 31st to 2nd at PILs. I think this might be the last time. It was clearly too much. DH and I offered to help as much as possible but MIL is very particular about everything being done a certain (her) way.

It's FILs birthday on the 31st too. We don't want to stop seeing them over this period. They have no-one else but us (DH, me, DD1 and DD2) as SIL lives in Australia. No friends remain local and no other family. They are in their mid to late 70s.

We host Christmas for both sides of family which is lovely. PILs are unlikely to come back to ours for New Year.

So, I need recommendations for a hotel we could stay at for the New Year period. PILs are in Ayrshire. The accommodation needs to be dog friendly.

Can anyone suggest anywhere nice for Hogmanay 2024?

Ayrshire is a big place. Can you be more specific about where they live?

We went to a wedding at Lochside House Hotel down near Cumnock which was very nice, i'm not sure whether dogs are allowed in the main hotel but there are self-catering lodges which do allow dogs.

Nearest town is Ayr but happy to go South to Dumfries or North towards Glasgow. I feel Arran might be precarious due to weather.

We have been to Lochside a few times for dinner but never stayed. We've (DH & I) stayed at Dumfries House before.

This might suit.
