Hi lovely people
Planning to relocate to West Lothian. Does anyone have kids in Winchburg Academy because I am planning to get my kids there? Any good and bad experience to share? Thanks

Where are you locating from? The school is Winchburgh not Winchburg which makes me wonder if you are American? I know nothing about the school other than it being brand new and only open for a year now. I can't imagine you will get much of an idea how good or bad it is from this short period only.

Do you mean Sinclair Academy in Winchburgh? It is a Roman Catholic secondary. If you want a non-denominational school, the catchment is Broxburn Academy.

There are 2 new secondary schools. Sinclair academy is the RC school and Winchburgh academy is the non-denominational school.

When it opened last year it only opened with S1 and they will make there way up the school, now it has S1& S2. So you may struggle OP to find someone with a child there as it's still very small numbers

This was really interesting to read because I didn't know it existed! Have just been having a look on their website. Personally I would not want to go into it until it was open to all year groups, though if everyone felt like me it wouldn't work so...

School aside Winchburgh suffers the same as my neighbouring village (Kirkliston) ... all houses with zero infrastructure. Doctor and dentist are at capacity...public transport is a joke

Hi OP I know a couple of friends kids who got to St Clare's academy in Winchburgh. There's 2 new high schools catholic and the high school. My colleagues son is just about to start the catholic high school. I also have a colleague who's daughter is a science teacher there. Started a few months back. I drove past Winchburgh high school recently looks nice. One of my good friends stays in some older cottages in Winchburgh she's born & bred loves it but it's became really big now with all the new houses. I was shocked when I drove through recently to baby sit lol! X
