Steak pie recipe

Does anyone have a recipe for Scottish steak pie. I have tried a few but the gravy isn't right.

what's wrong with your gravy ? I just use an oxo cube and Bisto (Best if I'm feeling fancy)

Another follow, love a good steak pie but as you said, it never tastes quite the same when I make it myself!

What do you feel it is missing?

A dollop of redcurrant jelly, a spoonful of mustard, a good glug of red wine and more salt than you think. Cook low and slow until the meat is falling apart and thicken with cornflour.

If I want it to be really good I roast beef bones and then deglaze that roasting tin and chuck the whole lot in with the beef stew. Pick the bones out before assembling the pie.

This one although I add bay leaves, mustard, plenty of white pepper and some bisto gravy powder (not granules!)

Maw Broons cookbook has a Steak Pie recipe that you might like . Maybe you could by from Amazon .

Maw Broon does use beef dripping to fry the beef in which I do do .😋

@stepintochristmas1 I forgot to say I use beef dripping! It definitely makes a difference doesn't it.

supermarket sells beef dripping, it's in the fridges.

Beef dripping is great for cheap and flavourful roasties but I do push the boat out on xmas day and use goose fat .

So in 10weeks of school my LO ( in P1) has had 5books back for homework and sounds/letters a total of about 10 … it seems everyone is wondering what has happened to homework as it is a similar sort right up to P7. I have sent message in and tried to speak to the head but she has shut me down and no one else has made progress either from what I gather. Does anyone know how to go about raising the matter up to a higher authority?- it seems that the SPSO don’t deal with complaints about what/how they are taught? TIA!

Perhaps send another email, this time asking if she has a good steak pie recipe?

My butcher sells a steak pie seasoning mix! It's a game changer I think you can buy it from amazon too.
