Dumfries restaurant recommendations?

Hi all, I was hoping someone could help me please. We are attending an event in Dumfries tomorrow (Sunday) which ends about 6pm, and was hoping someone could recommend somewhere for dinner for me, DH & DS (age 9) after that? We will be heading from Dumfries back to Cairnryan to catch the late ferry home to NI so anywhere not too far off that route but we have a fair amount of time to kill.

Not particularly fussy on type of food, would absolutely love a roast dinner but it might me too late in the day for that…Thank you for any help!

I recomend Casa Mia in Dumfries, nice varied menu, great food, good with kids
I would book as its popular

There aren't that many choices in Dumfries. Agree that Casa Mia is good. Also Kilnford Barns which is out on the way to Cairnryan but I don't think it's open in the evening.

Home restaurant is supposed to be very good, otherwise Casa Mia may be the best option in Dumfries.

Otherwise, a slight detour to Castle Douglas might be an option? It's a bit further along the A75 as well.
