Violent in schools

I look at this and am horrified, really horrified:

my child was physically assaulted on a daily basis by a child who happened to be in care. There was absolutely nothing the school could do apart from a temporary suspension every couple of weeks, which gave my daughter a few days of not getting beaten up, and now this! Violent kids have no place in mainstream schooling, regardless of their background. What does it take for the education department to see this????

how on earth are bullies supposed to learn to behave when there are zero consequences?

It's been like that for a long time. When I was at uni (20+ years ago) something like 85% of the women in Cornton Vale were dyslexic. And nowt has been done about it.

There was a trouble-maker in my child’s class. Bullied others and disrupted class. First he took to truanting in school - vaping and setting off the fire alarm. Then just truanted outside school. I was quite relieved he had removed himself. But for him the education system had failed him. The school excluded him from time to time but, other than give the teachers and class a break, it didn’t achieve anything. He needed a specialist setting able to address his needs but those sorts of settings just don’t exist here anymore.
