UCAS

Hi - when do schools normally submit UCAS forms? Does it depend on the school? Or the council? I am reading about kids already getting offers for 2024 entry but my child's school seem way off them submitting - no checks on personal statements or anything yet. This is in Edinburgh. Thanks

Usually around October so that they are fine and dusted before prelims etc but the absolute deadline is around 15 January

Our school deadline is 29 November

Personal statement currently with school for checking.

My DCs school want them handed into school for checking and adding references by end November.
I think they get submitted to UCAS during December.

That allows time for the kids still doing rounds of university open days at moment

Usually done by December. Sometimes depends on the child and if LEAPS are involved.

Would Leaps involvement mean it takes longer?

My DCs haven't submitted the UCAS forms yet. We are also Edinburgh. They have had their personal statements checked. I think their school is planning on getting them to submit them early December. The students getting offers now will be the ones who are applying to Oxbridge or for medicine, veterinary medicine and dentistry. They had to apply by mid October. Equal consideration of applications is the end of January. LEAPS students I would have thought will be applying with the rest of the school, but get extra help and support in the run up to the submission. My guess for that though.
