Portobello steam room

Would love to try it - have always been a bit self conscious to use it but have decided life is too short for such feelings.

But what do you wear? Can you take a towel to drape around you? Do people go alone or in groups? Does it feel an awkward experience at all? Please advise!

It's been a very long time since I went but you wore your swimming costume and I think took a towel in to sit on. Most people were on their own as, like me, they were often on their way home from work. This might depend on the time. I loved the three heated rooms (cant remember the proper name) and often used to take a book with me.
