SQA Appeals - grade changes?

Just wondering if anyone appealed and got their grade changed? I know only priority appeals have gone through so far - we are waiting on a non priority appeal.

I'm interested in this too as we're also waiting on a non-priority appeal. I'm assuming we won't know the outcome until the end of October.

We are waiting for 2 Highers to be re-counted as DD was 1 mark off a B in one and 2 marks off an A in another. I’m not hopeful that she’ll be successful because I know that there was very little movement on grades last year at higher, though she did appeal a National 5 successfully last year. I think we heard around mid-October last year.
Please update when you find out as I’m interested to see what level of success there is for appeals this year.

My sons waiting on a higher appeal as well so interested in hearing how anyone gets on. Do they just re count the marks and do no checking of answers?

I think they recount marks, check no questions missed. They also mention checking the marking standard which I took to mean they might double check a couple of sample questions? They don’t remark (presumably unless their checking throws up an obvious issue).

No news here yet. Hoping we're going to hear back soon.

Still waiting here as well. Think website said school will find out not the pupil but will the pupil’s SQA account update if appeal decided?

I understood they would get a new certificate if grade changed.

My son's grade changed in 2019 for advanced higher modern studies and he received a new certificate. 😊

Still waiting here too and it's been a tough time. DD2 got great marks the whole way through and they can't use prelims / assessed work to help with the appeals. She's never going to get into the unis she wanted even on the off chance they change her grades. Some people just aren't great at exams :(

She thinks end of October.

We had a look at last year and it was 1st November.

Mine got none of their appeals. DD was in for 3. Gutted that one mark difference in all 3 would have changed the grade AND she'd been steady the whole year & prelims

DD was successful in getting her Higher RMPS upgraded to a B. We are delighted 😀. Fingers crossed for those still waiting

My DD isn’t home from school yet but I’m guessing she didn’t get upgraded because she hasn’t texted me. It was a long shot as I think she was about 4 marks short of the grade boundary but she wanted to try.

DS hasn’t heard anything from the school today. Does anyone know if their my SQA account will get updated as I think it’s been saying appeal pending?

DD got her appeal upgraded to an A (from B). She is delighted. She had been confused how she had got such a low mark in one of her papers.

For those who have had successful appeals (congratulations!), has their grade already changed on My SQA? DS has left school so hasn't been in to get results, so not sure how he'll find out.
