Hi my friend is thinking of moving to Kirkmuirhill, South Lanarkshire and they were wondering is it a nice / good / safe place to live they have a car so travel is not a problem any thoughts ta.

It’s quite an odd place to want to move to! Is there any special reason? Lots of nicer places nearby tbh

Not much there tbh. Quite isolated and not much character in my opinion.

Bit of an odd place. It's in the middle of nowhere with practically no public transport. It's not the worst part of Lanarkshire but unless you specifically want to live there I would consider Strathaven instead.

Strathaven is far nicer but more expensive. Was there a particular reason for Kirkmuirhill?

Its really accessible for motorway. (so i guess that could be a positive) .having a car/ability to travel is probably essential cos the bus timetable is draconian. Whilst it is probably "ok" it depends what you want from living there and how you spend your time. Theres limited choice for schools. shops, pretty sure they even closed the kirk down.

Lesmahagow would be better, I think, if strathaven too pricey. It’s also right by the motorway

lesmahagow would make absolutely zero real difference really.
