Flats in Glasgow?

Disclaimer: I know how lucky we are to be able to afford to do this!

We are looking at buying a 1or 2 bedroom flat for dd1 to start her on the housing ladder. She will be paying the mortgage, we are providing the deposit and will act as guarantors.

What I really want to know is how much over asking price are flats going for in Glasgow and especially the East End? (she has rented in the area and wants to stay there). She's not expecting a nice old tenement flat for the price we can afford, but would consider a do-er upper (her DP is a joiner).

There are a few on rightmove that she wants to take a look at, but I'm wondering how much more, percentage wise, we would have to offer?

Thanks in advance!

There are a few fixed price on right move at the moment around Dennistoun. Don’t know about offers over for that area but until recently in south side I’d have said 20% over valuation, but there’s definitely more going to fixed price.

Your solicitor should be able to tell you the current market conditions.

We've just bought with our daughter but in the west end. We paid £35000 over the asking price and got the property by about £500 over the next bid.

Your solicitor can advice but currently it's anywhere between 10-20% over the home report.
