Overnight stay recommendations

Hi all,

Looking for somewhere to book for an overnight stay. Ideally within an hour from Glasgow but somewhere chilled and relaxing (as opposed to city centre). Just want to get away from it all.

DP isn't really into fancy hotels that I like (gleneagles style), but somewhere that's a bit of a treat while still being relaxed and un-stuffy?

Ideally somewhere with a nice restaurant attached or nearby. It's for October so my vision in my head is log fires, cozy pub etc but a bit nicer than where we'd go on a usual weekend?

Dunkeld house hotel probably fits the bill it's lovely great food, has a pool/spa just over an hours drive (depending which side of Glasgow you are!)
Also has beautiful walks nearby

Check out the ituson Web page, loads of deals for nice places on there, we use it a lot for the discounts. Have a lovely night!

The Orangery in Stirling https://www.victoriasquare.scot/the-orangery/

Fabulous food, entertaining hosts and very welcoming. It's in the town but very quiet area (especially as Dumbarton Road is no longer a route to the centre). I haven't stayed here (live locally) but the food and service is amazing so I'd expect the rooms to be special. I'm sure there's a fire in the drawing room. Only 45 minutes into Glasgow.

Have a lovely time wherever you go.

I agree it is fab but it's more than an hour from Glasgow. Although you could stay somewhere like the Loch Fyne Hotel or Creggans Inn and make a romantic weekend of it. Creggans certainly has the cosy pub vibe.

Also more than an hour away, but totally worth it - the George Hotel, Inveraray.

All of these look amazing! I'm keen to stick within an hour of Glasgow if possible.
We have a week off work and going away with DC for 5 nights up north in Scotland.

Will have a 4.5 hour drive home on the Wednesday afternoon/evening, then a rare chance for an adult only overnight on the Thursday. Probably won't be in the mood for too much driving and need to be home by midday for the dc on the Friday.

Any ideas up Loch Lomond/luss/balmaha way?

We've stayed at the Lodge on Loch Lomond which is nice. Get a balcony room and you can sit and watch the loch - some have saunas. Easy walk into Luss. Food is pretty good although dining room can be busy. Also has a swimming pool.
