My third and final child is doing Nat 5s in 2024. He is not impressed with the timetable as he has :

30 April - Mod Studies
2 May - Business
3 May - Maths in the morning, Drama in the afternoon

I think it's the two exams in the same day which has freaked him, neither of the older two ever had that. He'll cope.

My DDs have come home complaining that physics used to be one of the last exams now it’s one of the first!

Thanks DD3 is doing her Nat5s next year she’s quite anxious about them but I’m annoyed with the some of her teachers already piling the pressure on them. I. January of THIS year they were saying to the class - this time next year you will be sitting prelims you need to study same with exams. I’m like give them a break they are third years.

We have maths, then politics then biology, 3 in a row....gads

My child is doing 5 Highers and has 15 days between the first and second, 13 days between the second and third, 4 days between the third and the 4th and 21.5 hours between the 4th and the 5th. Pretty lucky I'd say. Last year my other child's were all at the beginning so they had more than two weeks of 'exam leave' after all their exams had finished!

DD has one exam start of May, then a week's break, then two exams 2 days in a row, then 2 weeks til the next two. I think the last one is on the last day of study leave, same as this year, so she's not happy at all that she doesn't get any gaps between exams and return to school where she's not expected to study!

Haven't been told yet when the prelims are, just sometime in the new year.

I'm not thrilled about DS having English, RMPS and Maths all on top of one another but DS is quite pleased that (unlike this year with Nat 5s where he had one of the first and one of the last exams) he will end up with 2.5/3 weeks "holiday" once he's done.

Looking at the timetable in full, he's done and dusted on the 15th May. Other two had exams going on much later than that. Now considering possibility of getting a week / 10 days in the sun before they move up to S5.

My son is sitting five Highers: Maths, Chemistry, physics, Computing and English. Seem fairly spaced out

I'm a teacher and also have a N5, Higher and Adv H class... Lots of skin in the game this year!

Does anyone know if S6 students go back in for anything after their final exam or if that is them done? Does it depend on the school?

Depends on school policy but in general they leave at the start of the exams. DD's last day in school this year was 20 April. After that, there are things like prom and leavers' days, but no more "school".

My eldest (s6) has one and then over 2 weeks wait. 2 on subsequent days and then another 6 days. He’s quite chill having got AAAAA in s5.

my youngest is s4 and we are waiting to see just how many n5 he will get to do but looking like 25 April to start and finishing on 24 May.

chemistry is late this year in 2021 it was my son’s first n5 exam, end of April and the higher was on 12 May this year
