We have recently moved to Dunblane and have our eldest at high school. Any suggestions of clubs/things we can sign up for that will enable him to meet kids from his year group? - he’s in S2. A knee injury means he is unable to take part in football/rugby unless it’s a kick about.

hopefully trying to find something that kids in his year group attend.

thanks all.

Depends what he is into really. I think there are lots of things at the Dunblane centre, there is Scouts though Boys brigade seems to be the more popular locally. Generally also things going on in Bridge of Allan and Stirling.

If you can give an idea of what might interest him I'm sure there will be something available.

Welcome to Dunblane.

Pretty much everything you could want either in Dunblane itself or close by , it’s not all about Dunblane Soccer Club and the nearby Stirling rugby club!

Boys brigade/ scouts/ air cadets
Rubber chicken theatre group if he’s interested in music / drama
Tennis club - social as well as competitive groups
Taekwondo
Art classes
Youth club and various other things going on at The Dunblane Centre
Not sure what’s on for that age at The Peak (Stirling) - swimming, but also possibly gymnastics, badminton etc etc

Join the local Facebook group Dunblane Telegram - they repost pretty much everything local organisations and businesses post on their own pages.

Thank you. He’s keen to try new things so nothing is off limits.

Amazing, thanks so much! So many great suggestions that we hadn’t even thought of or found on our Google search ❤️

There's also fencing (in Stirling), cricket (Doune and Dunblane CC and also I think Stirling). Various things available at the uni. Scouts is very full (though you may be nearer the top if the list if he is transferring from elsewhere), when he is 14 he might get into Explorers. Lots at the uni. Orchestra and choir at school, NYCOS also meets in Dunblane on Tuesday evenings if he is a singer. Rubber Chicken Theatre is excellent (drama and musical theatre classes).

Look on here, it will give you links to all the various clubs around the area in terms of sports once he is better as well as the gentler stuff such as bowling etc.
