Which are the best ones to get? I’ve seen Leckie but also Hodder and Stoughton, can anyone tell me the differences please?😊

I didn't find my son really used the books to be honest- but the Bright Red flash cards in the sciences were really useful for revision.

Get yourself down to your local charity shop, we always had loads. DD liked the "how to pass" ones - the past papers are pretty pointless as you can get them all online.

Blanketpolicy · 24/08/2023 18:29

I bought (too many) revision guides and they were not used.

With school notes, school online resources, scholar access provided by the school, bbc bitesize, past papers, and youtube it meant the revision guides were just excess and information overload.

Thanks for the advice everyone, I don’t think I’ll bother!😊

@gracielooloo what subjects is your dc sitting. I have some that I would be happy to send you. Some were bought second hand and ds sat highers this year so may not be the newest but might be helpful.

Chaimummy · 25/08/2023 00:03

Hey Im in the same boat with my DS - he's doing Latin, French, Geography, Biology, History, English, Maths and RMPS - if you do have an spare books it's be happy to pay for them if the OP doesn't need them ☺️

margotsdevil · 25/08/2023 00:36

As a teacher I beg you not to buy before asking the relevant staff! There are a plethora of books available for my subject, but not all books are created equal... there are definitely some that are great and some to avoid. I'd honestly ask your DC to ask the teacher - most will have a preference.

gracielooloo · 25/08/2023 16:57

Thanks @margotsdevil, I’ll encourage her to do that………whether she will is another story!
@Threeboysadogandacat she’s doing Mods, Biology, Chemistry and Spanish and Maths and English obviously.

My DC has just finished Highers. Liked Leckie, thought they were good. Against the grain here but they were used a lot.

Harrythehappypig · 25/08/2023 17:08

For both Nat 5 and Highers.
