Anyone been on the last day? I've been to some of the earlier days before but this year I'm taking ds to the final day on Saturday. It says it starts at 9am but doesn't say when it finishes. I was thinking we might arrive late morning but I don't want to miss all the best bits if it starts at 9.

It doesn't generally finish till 5/6. Or at last that was the case when I used to go pre Covid.

I heard it on my break today, it was lovely

The March Past of all the massed bands will probably be around 6/7pm. The junior/novice bands compete first ,starting early morning. They go up the grades as the day goes on, with the big bands (ie grade 1) competing right up until around 4/5pm. If you arrive late morning, you will still catch lots of bands. Here’s hoping for a dry day

Oh so really late then. I was worried that it might finish earlier on the last day so that everyone could get away home early or something. Why I would think that I don't know but there you go

All the pipe bands compete on Saturday. My youngest is playing in her band, which is novice juvenile grade, and will compete from 9am. They will also participate in the march past around 6pm. A long day!

Hmm, maybe we want to arrive a bit later then. We'll not last from 9 till 6. Or at least I won't, ds would stay all day.
