Can anyone explain the night before check-in for jet2 at Edinburgh airport?

I heard we can check bags in the night before. Does anyone know how this works time wise and if it’s worth it? We are staying in airport hotel so no extra journey other than shuttle from the hotel

I did it in Newcastle - stayed in an airport hotel & dropped bags off around 8pm the night before.

We had a very early flight around 6am so just had hand luggage & went straight to security the next morning.

The last time I flew Jet2 in Scottish school Easter holidays, I didn't use this service & found it fine just dropping off baggage the same day - there weren't long queues & the staff were helpful so it was quick.

I've done it - found it easier in the morning not to have the cases.

They did the same at the hotel on the way back

I did at at East Mids. No queue to do it and straight to security in the morning for an early flight.

The only down side was I was anxious that our cases would be on the same plane as we were but fortunately we were reunited at our destination!

Plus if you have young children only 1 person from your group needs to take the cases so you don't all have to queue.

Thanks that’s good. I was wondering if it was possible to leave kids at hotel rather than take them to queue for luggage drop

I did it in Birmingham recently with TUI and it was great - check in on the morning was insane and all our cases came off first the other end. There were 16 of us so it saved us so much time!

We did it fairly late in the day at Gatwick after nearly all the airline’s flights had departed. Not only did we not queue, we had our choice of check in/bag drop desks.

Slept in our pants to save on hand luggage space, but I did make sure we had a spare set of clothes, including swimwear, each, just in case a bag went missing. It’s an absolute game changer if you’re on site anyway.

We did it last October, we live on the tram line and jumped on the tram, went to the jet2 Check-In and they went through it all. Then we headed home.

Next morning was a 6am flight so when we arrived it was just straight upstairs to the security then into departures.

We'll do the same this year. It worked so easily.

We did it back in June. Partner was able to take them the evening before and saved loads of time in morning which was great as really early flight. Bags arrived with no issues!

Well worth it you’ve got an early flight! You just do bag drop at check in as normal, go home and the next morning head straight to security with your hand luggage. Check what
time security opens if you’ve got an early flight, from memory it’s around 4am so nothing to be gained by being too early.
