Dear all,
I was wondering how busy Bruntsfield and Morningside are, during the festival ? Very noisy ? Can you park at all (permit parking)?
many thanks 🙏

Parking is always busy in Bruntsfield and Morningside but you should be able to find a spot. Everywhere is busier than normal at the moment but it's nothing like it is in the centre and it's a nice buzz rather than anything else.

It's been a while since I lived in Edinburgh (specifically Morningside and Bruntsfield), but it doesn't really get that busy - the Bruntsfield Links is a good spot for a picnic and doesn't get crowded; as for parking, the further out you go the better the chances are of finding a space. There are plenty of decent bus routes into the centre which run regularly.

I was in that area recently had a meeting at the royal Ed it wasn’t very busy but roadworks meant parking was a pain outside of the hospital but I’ve not noticed it any busier than usual

At the moment I would say there is less traffic in the area, as Edinburgh still has school holidays. I don't know about parking, as I use the bus, so only making this judgement based in the congestion I see.
There are hardly any Fringe venues in the area so I don't see why it should get much worse.

I don't think the parking changes much , though I do find it takes longer to get through the area on the bus.

The bus service definitely suffers during the Fringe. Or maybe there are just more tourists about in August.

We stayed in Morningside at the weekend and it was lovely, not too busy and with a nice vibe. We found the buses were regular and efficient, and we booked a parking space through one of the parking websites.

Unless you are unlucky in having booked a airBnB in a tenement with another party flat, it is unlikely to be particularly noisy. Bruntsfield and Morningside are two of the nicest areas. What sort of noise are you worried about? Drunks? Traffic? Emergency sirens? Birdsong?

Thanks !
i meant noise at night with parties etc…
