Edinburgh University Visit Ideas

I'm taking my 17 year old daughter to visit Edinburgh University this week. Got a student led tour lined up. I've been to Edinburgh before as I've got family living nearby but it's her first time.
We live far away so are staying a few nights. Can you suggest anywhere I can take her to eat or drink (student-ish) so she can get a real feel for the place? I know that most of the students will have gone home. Thanks

Should be plenty of students still around the Meadows/Marchmont/Bruntsfield. Civerinos Pizza Slice at Hunters Square and TingTingThai are usually busy with students. There are a couple of African wrap shops too which are usually busy. Not sure whether the union in Teviot Row is open. If it is the Library Bar is good for a coffee. Starbucks, Cafe Nero and Soderberg in Quarrtermile will have some students (staff will be students too). Black Medicine and Union Brew are very good but I haven't been in these outside term time. If you go to Union Brew go look at the Law Library in New College (my DDs favorite place to study)

Thanks SandyIrvin - we found the Teviot Garden Bar and Black Medicine. Lots of preparation for the fringe festival going on which meant it was buzzing.
She really liked the university and the city. Just has to get the grades to secure a place now!!

My sister does the baking in black medicine.

@BigBoysDontCry your sister makes a great carrot cake.

@hayleybeach glad your DD liked the uni and city. My DD loves Edinburgh (much to the dismay of her Glaswegian parents).

Thank you 😊 She makes great everything.
The gluten free brownies are my boys favourite 😋
