Hmm wonder if she's lining herself up to be leader of the SNP at some point? Definitely not the last we'll see of her unfortunately.

As someone originally from quite near her constituency and with relatives still up there, I totally agree with PPs' views about Ms Black. She is an absolute chancer and nasty piece of work. Has done nothing for Paisley. Loads for AGP men. I was thinking she might go for an MSP number and try and be FM. God Help Scotland !!!!!!

Kevinscousin · 04/07/2023 21:34

@massistar she went to that school because her mum is senior teacher there. She didn't live in that area. (I know this as my DS's ex had her mum as a teacher and she was apparently a really nasty person like Mhairi).

MrsMarzetti · 04/07/2023 21:45

She is one vile human being. Had the misfortune to travel in the same train carriage as her.

Rainbowshit · 04/07/2023 21:51

ssd · 04/07/2023 18:06

Why do you all dislike her? I seen a speech she gave in the house of commons it was excellent and spot on.

She said she wanted to put the nut in no voters.

She called women wanting singles sex spaces "Jeremy hunts "

She took someone called flo job into schools.

She's not a nice person.

I would say good riddance but unfortunately I suspect we haven't seen the last of her. She's a nasty, foul mouthed hypocrite.

SirChenjins · 04/07/2023 18:32

She has said some absolutely vile, vicious things about us and she’s a lying hypocrite with her false working class accent. She’s a rent a gob politician that gives other politicians a bad name. Loathe her.

Yep this. Awful woman.

Dente · 04/07/2023 22:26

She also allegedly took coke in the Houses of Parliament.

She is the worst.

massistar · 04/07/2023 22:28

I stand corrected. Ralston is indeed as posh as Paisley gets. I'm from the general area but not in Scotland any more and the exaggerated accent does grate on me.

Rainbowshit · 04/07/2023 23:06

She has one of the worst attendance/voting records in Westminster.

She rarely seems to bother with her constituents or holding surgeries.

OP posts:
Kevinscousin · 04/07/2023 23:14

Could also add that she called those of Irish descent living in Scotland "plastic Paddies" , called some of the concerned parents & constituents( from a disadvantaged area) homophobic and ignorant when they objected to her drag queen pal telling their children stories at a local primary school. The creep had an open Facebook account containing sexually explicit photos of himself with sexually explicit language. Aye she's all heart is Mhairi.

Kevinscousin · 04/07/2023 23:21

Oh and she hide from the worried parents of sick children when the local children's ward was getting closed. Completely ignored them. It's on camera. She dodged these really concerned parents with poorly children for months and tried to make out that they were bullying her.

Kevinscousin · 04/07/2023 23:21

*hid

Rainbowshit · 04/07/2023 23:22

But she can read out some words someone else has written with a bit of passion so....

That's really unfair. It was allegedly ket

BlastedPimples · 04/07/2023 23:52

Pity.

Parisj · 04/07/2023 23:55

I thought she made some very good points about HoC culture and need for modernisation on the Newsagents podcast where she announced her departure. And she certainly is a very effective speaker. I have been generally disappointed in her though, perhaps needed more life experience before politics. She says she's getting married but also planning on keeping campaigning, so yes, might have an eye on Holyrood.

SueVineer · 05/07/2023 00:00

She’s utterly vile as others have said. Totally unable to do the job she is supposed to do and tries to put on a “working class” persona despite being middle class. I too suspect she willl turn up at holy rood.

There is absolutely nothing effective about her speaking - she’s hugely offensive and says nothing that hasn’t been said already in a far more eloquent, intelligent and insightful way.

IncomingTraffic · 05/07/2023 09:10

A politician who uses phrases like ‘plastic Irishmen’ in interviews clearly uses much worse language when they are not watching their public image. And that’s indicative of their actual attitudes and the contemptuous way in which they view the public.

It’s not a minor slip up. How many of us would even be able to have come up with the phrase ‘plastic Irishmen’? It wouldn’t even have been on my radar.

imagine what she says when a sympathetic journalist isn’t recording her.

I didn't realise this.

Where's she from? What's her background?

Wonder why she chose to put on a working class act.

I find her mildly irritating although haven't seen much of her in recent years.

But the thought of her as FM. Horrifying. Surely to god that won't happen.

@Huckleberries73 Interesting, thank you, I didn't know that.

I agree with a previous poster who said that she had the novelty of being very young back when she was 20 and the youngest MP for a few hundred years.

I don't really see what she has to offer now.

ssd · 05/07/2023 14:43

All this talk of her being middle class and speaking in a different accent is the worst type of mn snobbery going. Discussing where she was brought up and went to school and how she shouldn't speak how she does.
Honest to christ Angry

catzrulz · 05/07/2023 14:50

If the place she works is so bad why doesn't she go now?
Unfortunately she'll be a shoe in for MSP.

It isn't snobbery.
I am am working class woman from the same area. I have no issues with women from my area of any background. I have a lot of issues with someone cos playing my background for the benefit of their career.
It is deceitful.
