Hi, I am moving to Glasgow and enrolling my dd through the in-term enrolment into P3. Our local schools are all full and I am looking at Thornwood or St Charles primary.
Does anyone have any current experience of either ? Do you know how many classes there are in each year group?
Any info would be helpful to narrow down decision making.
Also gutted about local school full as walking to school seems to be out of the question now.
Thanks in advance!

Can't comment on the two schools you've mentioned but worth trying Kelvindale. It's a really nice school and not far from the west end

Just a bit of advice for the future, I see you have given a catholic and non catholic school option. In Glasgow, if you choose a catholic primary school you will automatically be offered a place at a catholic secondary, choose non catholic primary and you get a place at a non catholic secondary. These will be your catchment secondary schools based on your home address, not necessarily the schools that children in your child's class will go to if you are not enrolled in your catchment primary. If you wish to change from catholic to non catholic or vice versa for secondary you will have to put in a placing request which will only be granted if there is space and you rank high on the criteria list.
If these are the schools that are being offered by the council then you will be kept on a waiting list for your catchment primary and there tends to be quite a lot of movement over the summer in the Westend so you may yet get a place.
