This astonishing 700 year old letter from Scottish barons to the Pope is almost never on public display, but it's in the National Museum of Scotland at the moment and for another week. Make sure you read the translation (the original is in Latin) as it's quite something. Has anyone heard that the Scots actually originally came from Spain and moved to and fought for Scotland at the time of Moses?

Have seen it. It’s a remarkable piece of history, despite the two holes. national records of Scotland really don’t like it leaving the archives so it’ll be a while before it’s on display again.

i have no idea what this is about. There have been people in Scotland since Skara Beae times.
