She was born early March 2021, and I think she should be starting in August 2024 so when should I apply? I’m worried about missing the boat.

Also do I apply via council website or direct to nursery.

I can only answer for Edinburgh council. You can apply from their second birthday to any council run nursery. You just contact the nursery or school direct. They can then sort you out with a form etc.

For private nurseries you just apply to the nursery directly.

@Staffielove23 I’m assuming you mean for the funded hours? I’m Ayrshire and have just applied for mine. All children born March 2020-Feb 2021 applied this January. So I would assume you would be next January if your area works the same way. Have a look on your local council website at Early Years care and it should give you the info you need 🤞🏼

This depends entirely on your council same with when to apply.

My council (Aberdeenshire) we apply in January for that year. Ours are at private nursery so we speak to the nursery confirm the place is OK then fill in the council form which states the private nursery. We still have to put second and third choices in so we select the closest nearby school nurseries just so we can submit the form!
