Parking in Edinburgh City centre question

I've been invited to a wedding reception at the Signet Library and want to take my car because I have a toddler and a baby. Where can I park nearby and is there anywhere that won't cost me 63738489495 pounds?

The pay and display zones and prices are on the council website but there’s nowhere that really springs to mind that would be easy to get to from signet library. You also need to watch as some have a maximum stay time of only a couple of hours. https://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/homepage/10449/parking-spaces
there’s a car park under dynamic earth or quarter mile or Waverley station are probably the closest.

You could park in one of the free streets and take a bus there? For example, the 23 passes very close to the signet library and has free parking around the final few stops in morningside/greenbank.

Your closest place to park on the street is either bank street or market street. Both are pay and display until 6.30pm on a Saturday. bank street only has a few spaces but is a minute’s walk from signet library, market street about five minutes walk as you can’t easily use the stairs cut through with a baby and toddler. £6.30 an hour and I think the max is 2hrs.

Nearest long stay is new street - £12 for 5 hrs to £22 for 24hrs.

Closest free on street parking is north of Heriot row or south of the meadows on a Saturday. Number 23,27or 41 buses all go along George iv bridge where you’d get off to go to signet library.

On street parking in VERY limited in that area. I'd say Quartermile multi storey is your best bet and 10-15 min walk from there.

Try Just Park or similar? My parents seem to get great bargains on central parking in Edinburgh through it.

I tried to park in Waverley station a few years ago and was told it was £60 a day, I'm sure it will be even more now!

Hermits Croft parking is about £10 a day, 20 mins walk from Signet or 6 mins in a cab.

Thanks for all your responses everyone! I actually ended up parking at the Raddison on Blackfriars Street and it cost me £15 for 6 hours. Well worth the quick exit home with a baby and a toddler!
