Hi, we're moving to Glasgow and wondering about the primaries. Does anyone have kids at Shawlands, Langside or Battlefield? Could you tell me what they are like? thanks so much

Can't help you but I'm also looking in the southside, if anyone happens to know about Mount Florida or Kings Park Primaries either?

Where are you moving to and from? I love being in the southside, so much going on!

Hi, I am moving to Glasgow in the summer and also looking for the same info! Sorry I am of no help.

I would also love to get a better idea on what specific activities there are for primary aged kids in the area e.g: after school and weekends, and if these can be accessed by foot (generally). My kid does the usual swim, sports, dance etc currently.

If I come across any useful info I will share

Hi, I’m southside and have friends with kids at all three. All very happy with battlefield in particular. There’s two dance schools within walking distance-Glasgow school of Ballet and Dance Factory. You could cycle/drive to either the gorbals/bellahouston leisure centres for swim lessons. Goals in Queen’s Park does football aswell as the local football clubs and rugby club in pollok park. Giffnock athletics club has a v good reputation. There’s lots of activities in kinning park and the climbing centre is nearby in Ibrox. Busby equestrian is also only a 15min drive away.
The playgrounds are pretty tired looking but like the pp said, hopefully they’ll be getting a facelift soon!
