we live in Scotland and want to know how do I go about changing my daughter’s name by deed poll?

You don't need to use deed poll.

Your have 2 easy options:

Request a 'Statuatory Name Change Declaration' form from your local Civic Centre and see if they can make an appt for a councillor with you then or pass you to the councillor contact number. The councillor should see you and counter sign the form and that is it. Usually no charge for this.

I had to do this as my last name is double barrel although I never use it that way on bank accounts etc so to renew my passport I had to do this and send the form in. Was super easy.

Deed poll is more an England/Wales things.
