Lead story on the BBC 1pm news.

Haven't the nationalist posters gone terribly quiet?

Shelefttheweb · 18/04/2023 13:04

That is likely, but the timing of Peter’s arrest is still suspicious. As is the fact it took them years to launch the investigation after it was first reported.

Replying to post about time taken

It was flagged to the police years ago.

investigations can take years to get to the point where they’re making arrests

Sky News saying HY due to make a statement in the next hour or so, not sure if directly about this but seems like he's going to have to speak about it as part of the statement.

As an aside HY looks stressed to fck, as you might, but I don't think he'll be able to manage this. Proper stitched up!

Sugarfree23 · 18/04/2023 13:25

Maybe he's ready to scoot off on his scooter.🤣

KnittingNeedles · 18/04/2023 13:31

It'll be another "squirrel" announcement to attempt to draw attention away from what is happening within the SNP.

A free puppy for every household perhaps?

SirChenjins · 18/04/2023 13:43

Exactly - he’s very good at soundbite, is our great leader, so it will be more of the same claims he knew nothing and his priority is to focus on building Scotland’s future. Yawn.

AlecTrevelyan006 · 18/04/2023 13:47

Bet Forbes is thinking ‘thank God i didn’t win the leadership election,

He's already be on the news with "Couldn't possibly comment on an ongoing police investigation".

Catsolitude · 18/04/2023 13:48

I read today that STV has pulled a 2 hour tv special celebrating NS’s time as leader. Interviews with all her celeb pals; Elaine C Smith, Brian Cox etc etc.
For a show to even be commissioned for any newly resigned party leader (particularly one who has achieved zero) is just an example of how far down the rabbit hole we’ve gone as a country. Hopefully this police operation puts the end to NS’s cult of celebrity.

Even if nothing further happens and no-one is ever charged, it's delicious watching the house of cards fall without any big bad wolf blowing it down. They stitched themselves up good and proper and have shown themselves to be the sleekit incompetent arses that many of us said. Fervently denied of course by the supporters on here.

BlueThursday · 18/04/2023 14:22

Like an auld firm manager, Useless is going to start aging with all this very quickly

user567543 · 18/04/2023 14:39

Don’t worry about the data privacy implications of a school report being leaked - I’ve yet to see one that told me anything that wasn’t completely generic here 😂.

bolder on taxation? I’d like to know why people aren’t more angry about what they’d done with all of the money they’ve had so far given the nhs and education are such a mess.

Sugarfree23 · 18/04/2023 14:46

@user567543 its not just concerns about information being leaked its the whole picture of them trying to gather so much information on people.
The job you do / have applied for
The information on your CV.
Who your kids are,
Your bank details
How they are at school
How they travel

Then when kids start applying for jobs, they then have everything from their mothers DOB.

Honestly it's worrying how much information is being collected and put together.

Rainbowshit · 18/04/2023 14:47

Deposit return scheme delayed thank fuck. What a shitshow they are.

This is the best thing. Not even the most rabid nats can blame anyone but the SNP. 🤭

Oh I share those concerns @Sugarfree23 they are a very nosey govt - I was making a cheap shot on the dearth of information in school reports.

"This is the best thing. Not even the most rabid nats can blame anyone but the SNP. 🤭"

Sadly not the case. I have seen some interesting defending of them already.

Not much choice over that. They were making such a mess of introducing it that there was no way it could happen by August. They needed the UK government to amend the UK Internal Market Act 2020 for starters. Still, another nine months of uncertainty is sure to do wonders to the drinks industry.

Sugarfree23 · 18/04/2023 15:15

I remember the first time I heard about the bottle scheme saying that will never happen because it just won't work.

Loads of reasons why it won't, the cost of the bottle banks cannot be cheap.
The storage place for them, esp an issue in small corner shops.
It's not like the old glass ginger bottles that went in the same crate as the full ones.
They would need to be recycled rather than the glass that was relatively local taken back to the factory and was reused.

Hmm not sure about this soundbite. 😂😂

Jesus wept, we could have predicted this months ago, what a shame all those businesses had to go through the stress and pain of trying to establish how it impacted them.
It was like an idea for a high school student project in terms of its execution, except it was real life in Scotland with Lorna the Explorer getting to sit at the grown ups table and talk shite.

Still, all helps with the downfall.

Rainbowshit · 18/04/2023 15:55

I see Ross Greer is blaming Westminster for the delay. 🙄 It's just so fucking boring.

Ross Greer lives up the road from me. We're all very embarrassed about it.
