I'm an independence supporter who's really disheartened by HY's win.

The only good think I can say is I hope someone better will take over heath?

Maybe Kate- I think he has to give her a top spot, but I can't see him stretching to making her deputy first minister.

But more likely Angus Robertson for deputy.

I really hope Shirley Anne Somerville gets demoted as she's toxic.

I think Mairi McAllan will get a promotion as will Christina McKelvie.

Neil Grey will get bumped up as he ran HY's campaign. Ivan McKee will probably get demoted for supporting Kate.

Any other thoughts?

Can you find a thicker MSP than Emma Harper?

The one I have the misfortune to be related to by marriage could give her a run for her money.

Shona Robison as DFM Grin Haudit and Daudit are now in charge at the SG - it's going to be comedy gold!

NicolaSturGONE · 29/03/2023 12:50

Shona Robison saying Kate Forbes wants to be out of the spotlight.

2 days after being a candidate for first minister?????

LongWhiteCar · 29/03/2023 13:42

Shona Robison is Finance Minister as well as Deputy Leader.
Dire.

She is projecting. She wants Kate to stay out of the spotlight.

Finance Minister?? Bloody hell, it gets worse Shock

annabelindajane · 29/03/2023 14:46

He should have kept Kate very close ……

However he’s acting entirely in character which bodes well for their total annihilation

SirChenjins · 29/03/2023 15:04

Absolutely.

I wonder where she'll go from here - she has a lot of public support, so I can't imagine she'll disappear completely. Alba, perhaps?

Oh ha, ha, ha. Now that is hilarious.

Alba is a dud. If it wasn't a dud Cherry would have jumped ship to it.

Forbes won't disappear. She's got 48% of the members behind her. Useless is the Nat's Truss and Forbes is their Sunak.

Whoiscomingtosaveyou · 29/03/2023 16:25

People get what they vote for. All those SNP supporters who are now despairing of what is going on would do well to remember that at the next Scottish election.

Kate Forbes had it right- independence requires a strong economy. It will never happen with these numpties on board. Unfortunately everyone got sidetracked by Kate’s Christian faith and how abhorrent it is. And yet, most Muslims when pressed will have similar views on same sex marriage etc. I notice Humza keeping very quiet about that. He’s played the game and won. SNP members have been taken for a ride and it will be the undoing of the party.

I don’t support independence by the way.

NatashaDancing · 29/03/2023 16:38

I wonder how many SNP members voted for Useless to keep the Greens onside?

So much for "independence" - the SNP is willing to have policy dictated by a party who got less than 2% of the vote.

Where do you think she'll go? I can't imagine she'll achieve much from the back benches, so with as much public support as she has, she'll need to put that to good use.

The rest of Yousless's cabinet are as incompetent as he is. Angela Constance, for example, is spectacularly awful.

Whoiscomingtosaveyou · 29/03/2023 17:02

Looking at the new cabinet list we appear to have no transport minister. What’s that all about? 🤷‍♀️
Also they are making great claims about it being female dominated, but if you can’t define a female surely that’s irrelevant? 🤷‍♀️

Ministerial roles (including transport) not yet announced.

Jenny Gilruth - Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills.

Good grief.

GrouchyKiwi · 29/03/2023 17:35

Has he chosen a cabinet that will make him look competent by comparison?

Isn’t transport important enough to deserve a place in cabinet then? I would have thought that infrastructure and moving people and freight around a country was pretty vital.

Guess it's not seen as a priority. the ferry debacle might be a poisoned chalice.

Cazziebo · 29/03/2023 18:08

Depressing. How many of this Cabinet have had "real" jobs? ie not as party lackeys, spads, organisers etc but real jobs which they were qualified, interviewed, paid for? I thought the last cabinet was pretty woeful. This one is worse than scraping the barrel.

Be prepared for plenty of vanity causes, ill thought out bills and soundbites coming our way.

Whoiscomingtosaveyou · 29/03/2023 19:17

They should have had procurement sorted so that when each section ended the next was ready to begin. But organising anything seems too much for this government.

annabelindajane · 30/03/2023 14:46

So no Tourism minister but one for independence- oh he’s brilliant.

Is it still Ramadan? Maybe low blood sugar
