Morton's

I know it's not the end of the world- or really that important in the grand scheme of things but I'm sad to see that Morton's rolls have gone into administration. They fed me most mornings growing up and were a must in a Sunday with square sausage! There might be an investor willing to save the company - I hope so! So sorry for those whose jobs are at risk.

I really hope someone steps in. Mortons rolls are a different league to others. Was shocked to see the news about it

I feel so sorry for the 250 staff who face a very uncertain future

A big blow for the people of Drumchapel!

Hadn’t a clue what you were talking about. Morton bakery never reached my part of Scotland And was not on my radar.

sorry to hear of loss of job though and it’s always sad when something which features in our lives with happy memories disappears.

I was really gutted to see this news. Firstly for the workers but also as it won't be the same without Morton's rolls.

Fingers crossed they find a saviour!

You mean you've never heard 'Firhill for thrills, Morton's for rolls'? 🤣

@Blueberrycreampie you are talking a different language 😂
not sure I want to know what firhill is.

I was in my 30s when I first heard some people call Lorne sausage, square sausage.

Blueberrycreampie · 07/03/2023 23:23

You probably don't want to know in all fairness but Firhill was where Patrick Thistle fc played - don't know if that's still the case. Yes it was called Lorne sausage mostly.
