DUMFRIES AND GALLOWAY

HI EVERYONE HAPPY NEW YEAR HELP PLEASE I AM THINKING OF MOVING AND LIVING IN A PLACE CALLED BEATTOCK IN DUMFRIES AND GALLOWAY DOES ANYONE LIVE THERE OR HAS BEEN TO VISIT I WOULD APPRECIATE VERY HONEST OPINIONS OF THIS PLACE I DO NOT KNOW MUCH ABOUT IT MANY THANKS 🙏

Well, it's quite small, just a village. Nearby Moffat is bigger and quite touristy. Dumfries is further away, but much bigger again with far more facilities. You'll need a car to go anywhere from Beattock, or be happy to use the infrequent bus services.

Is there anything in particular you want to know about, eg housing, schools, work, weather, state of the roads ...?

HI EVERYONE DOSE ANYONE KNOW WHY ARE THE HOUSE PRICES SO EXPENSIVE IN THE SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS. I WOULD LOVE TO LIVE THERE MANY THANKS.

Prices then to fluctuate quite a bit in D&G, it’s been very popular recently and prices have risen but they could potentially drop more so than other parts of Scotland and parts of England. They don’t tend to rise as much either.
The upland areas of d&g tend to be cheaper than the coastal areas.
If you are planning of staying for a long time it doesn’t matter what house prices do. Really you need to spend some time there to see if you like it

Beattock or Wick. No difference between the two. (except about 300 miles).
