Does anyone live in East Lothian and would you recommend it? Is there much to do for families?

East Links Country Park
Dunbar Leisure Pool has waves and flumes.
Gullane beach
Newhailes / Weehailes. There is a Jump-In trampoline park opposite.
Foxlake
There are regular roller discos at Musselburgh Leisure Centre.
Fort Kinnaird is on the Edinburgh/East Lothian border for shopping.
Cycling on the John Muir Way.
The Christmas panto in Musselburgh is always very good.

I don’t live there but I work all over East Lothian. I’d like to move there one day though, I really like it.
The beaches are a big plus point for me.
Good train links into Edinburgh too.

I am working my way steadily towards East Lothian with successive house moves, hoping DH doesn’t notice 😉

Yes, it’s fantastic. Lots to do, friendly and beautiful.

We (me, DH, baby and toddler) moved from Edinburgh to East Lothian 6 months ago. Never thought I'd leave Edinburgh and was dubious but we love it! Only 15 mins in the car/train from Edinburgh, loads of green space, gorgeous sea (estuary) views, beaches galore... I'd highly recommend it.

My sister lives there - lovely part of the world!

The only downside is the city bypass commute to Edinburgh if you will be doing that & forthcoming works at Sherrifhall roundabout
