Anyone in murrayfield interested in the by election?

it’s all Lib Dem’s round here but they are in the press for the women’s rights. Elaine miller is standing as an independent anout local voice/women’s issues and the small parties are there not not Alba

This is costing thousands thanks to the in party politics of the SNP with their sniping etc that saw the resignation of Frank Ross. I live in the ward affected and I’m not amused. Not been impressed by any of the gumph posted through the door.

Not my area but very interesting to see Elaine Miller standing. I assume she will not win, but she will get to speak at hustings etc which is good

The Roseburn traders have been totally shafted by the council. And now the Roseburn residents have got perma-diggers. She might get in, independent councillors can be popular for people who feel they aren't represented.

The Lib Dems are in trouble, and rightly so. Alex Cole Hamilton needs to apologise for that speech he gave about 'Beth', but I doubt he will. They may be OK because people vote Lib Dem tactically to keep the SNP out. But now A C-H has confessed that he isn't qualified to say whether the convicted rapist is a man, they look a bit silly as a party.

this is clear isn’t it?ACH is not a man nice to women

I haven't read any of the Beth stuff, is it easy to summarise? Scared of falling down a Twitter rabbit hole!

Mabel24 · 13/02/2023 13:29

Beth is transgender activist whom it has been alleged (and a quick Google seems to back up) previously worked in prostitution and posted online threatening violence to ‘terfs’ (knife, baseball bat, throat punching) as well as having been accused of actual violence, tho never prosecuted. A C-H made a speech in public saying during all the late night debates in the chamber on the GRA he would look up at Beth and he stated in his speech that it was ‘all for Beth’.
Beth has now been exposed but A C-H is refusing to apologise. I think he thinks that the good residents of EH12 and EH4 will continue to vote Lib Dem to keep the SNP out.

Good grief!

No mention of Beth in this speech.Elaine Miller at Forth Feminists

I'm going to go to the hustings tonight. It's 7pm in the community centre next to the co-op shops in Corstorphine.

Wear your MN scarf and talk about Naice Haim and I'll say hello.

I'd like to know what's going to happen withthe roadworks - I expect someone has already posted the question to the community council.

I’m listening to a podcast about a women’s sex-based rights campaign group in Taiwan. They mentioned women in the UK standing in elections. Go Elaine! The impact of these initiatives is wider than the UK.
