Best things to do and see in Ayrshire

Hi

I've a lot more free time coming up and haven't seen much of ayrshire / nearby at all.

I live in Glasgow, and previously lived in Edinburgh, have had many Highland trips and more planned.

I've three days pencilled in for March, the last time I went to ayrshire I was around 10 and went to Troon.

I'm not too bothered about castles / stately homes but am very interested in visiting arran, the isle of cumbrae, love beaches, forests, waterfalls and (to look at) hills. I drive. Obviously I'm not expecting to see everything in 3 days.

Thanks xx

Culzean castle county park is beautiful. I know you said you're not bothered about castles so you can miss that out but is surrounded by a huge woodland area which is lovely for walks. Also has a small beach and a beautiful big swan pond. It's one of my favourite places to go.
Dumfries House is amazing too.

Agree that Culzean isn't all about the castle. You won't be too far from the Galloway Forest which is definitely worth a visit.
