Staying at Radisson Blu on the mile. Have heard great things about their breakfast. Do I add it on to our stay or are we missing lots of local gems?
Give me your best recommendations 😊

Dishoom.

Laila lunch & brunch

BinBandit · 07/01/2023 13:03

There are a couple of decent cafes on Cockburn street nearby. We like the Southern Cross.

Honkeydonkey · 07/01/2023 13:04

City cafe just off the Royal Mile is great.

AvengingGerbil · 07/01/2023 13:09

Le Petit Cafe on Morrison Street.

Mimi's - there is one on the Royal Mile and one in Leith - they do a "Beforenoon Tea" which is definitely a fun thing to do!

RedHouseWins · 07/01/2023 18:10

A bit of a trek, but Argyle Place (just over the Meadows) is amazing, and Salt Cafe in Morningside.

ScottishMum03 · 07/01/2023 19:04

@margotsdevil We do love Mimis 😍 have been to the one in Leith quite a few times when we’ve stayed at the MalMaison 😊 And it’s always a hit when I bring a box of cakes home if I’ve been in Edinburgh for work lol.

@RedHouseWins I’ll have a look at these too, thanks 😊 don’t mind a bit of a trek 😊

@hartytype *toddler friendly breakfast locations I should have said 🤣 I’ve been there for cocktails actually and it was lovely so I’m sure their boozy brunch would be a huge hit if it were just DH and I but i doubt boozy brunching with a toddler is a wise idea 🤣

It’s got to be Loudons

emmathedilemma · 09/01/2023 09:22

Check opening times as a lot of cafes don't open until well after most toddlers would expect to have been fed breakfast!

Charliecatpaws · 09/01/2023 09:24

I second the Southern Cross Cafe, we ate breakfast there every day on our visit last June

ScottishMum03 · 09/01/2023 10:01

@emmathedilemma I did notice this when I was looking at places actually! Hotel breakfast is from 6.30am so I might just go with that and then can make some good lunch plans instead 😊
