Has anyone been to Haggerston recently? Would you recommend it for toddlers?

i wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy. Filthy pool, expensive activities and awful restaurant with slow service. We ended up cutting our week long holiday short.

Honestly, I’ve had awesome holidays with my toddlers in Alnmouth and surrounding areas. For less money.

Thanks @mintbiscuit seems like that's the general consensus on all Haven Holiday Parks (in Scotland and the North East anyway). Reviews for the Parkdean sites don't seem to be much better.

We used to go to haggerston at least twice a year when our kids were small and we all loved it. We went for a weekend last year and booked a lovely big lodge it was gorgeous but we couldn't use the decking our leave the French doors open due the number of big rats everywhere I've never seen anything like it. It's a shame as well as its a lovely place with great facilities and a great base for exploring Northumberland but never again. Have you been to grannies heilan hame it's amazing for kids it's a bit of a trek from central Scotland but so worth it, even just for the beach.

Grannies Highland hame has gone right downhill in the last year. I used to love it but had an awful holiday this summer. The beach is fabulous as is the location but the caravan which was a “luxury” and very expensive caravan we hired which was mean to have a washing machine etc in it was actually disgusting. It was covered in a thick layer of dogs hair, filthy, the windows were broken and there was mould. The play park is falling into disrepair and the park had no entertainment in the day time for kids on wet days. We couldn’t get booked into the swimming pool when we tried days before and on-site and those that did said it was filthy. It’s used to be a fantastic park but is in a state now too unfortunately.

I was there a year ago, older dc though not toddlers. We had a ball, though we couldn't go to the entertainment (too busy to get a seat) but enjoyed using the various amenities on offer. I'm not saying there aren't better places, but it worked out well for us. Lovely area too.
