Edinburgh Hotel Recommendations Please

Looking for a city centre hotel with parking (can be a big ask, I know!) and a swimming pool that would be fine to take a toddler to.

Can anyone recommend any? From searches I’m coming across some Apex ones and a Novotel? I’ve seen others with pools but they look more like Spa pools.

Radisson Blu Hotel?

MacDonald Holyrood.

@NotToBeOrToBe @LIZS I’ll have a look at both, thanks!

We did baby swimming lessons at the Novotel. It’s nice and warm.

Village hotel has lots of parking and a big pool that allows children. But it's not city centre, it's easy access on the bus though.

If you need to be super central I'd say the holyrood hotel.

There's also the holiday Inn beside the zoo.

@museumum Thanks 😊

@Invisimamma We’ve stayed at the Village quite a few times when it’s just been DH and I as it’s so handy for parking etc but we have various things on in the city over a few days and will have our (just turned) 2 year old with us so hoping for more central so we can pop back and forth to the hotel throughout the day if needed and don’t have to bother with jumping on and off the bus 😊

Apex waterloo place has a pool and although it looks like a spa pool it is plenty big to swim in. Then behind there is the shopping centre and on the top floor is Lane 7 which is a bar/restaurant but has things like bowling and crazy golf and all that sort of stuff that kids would enjoy. Maybe your 2 year old would like the golf if nothing else and it could while away a few hours if you are going in weather similar to what we are having now.

@Igglepiggleslittletoe Thank you! I’ll have a look at that 😊

The city centre hotels with pools have all been listed above apart from the Sheraton and Caledonia but they're £££ compared to the Novotel and Apex! Note that whilst some say they have parking it's often in public car parks nearby but they often have an arrangement so you get it at a slightly reduced rate.
Alternatively, you could leave your car on a park & ride car park on the outskirts of the city and take the bus into your hotel. You can park overnight for free on all the P&R except the one at Ingliston.

@emmathedilemma Thank you 😊 Yes, I had definitely ruled a few out based on the price 😊 I had noticed that about the parking so will look into the cost etc 😊 we’ll have quite a bit of stuff with us that we need for the various events so would be easier to park as close as possible, even if it’s just in an NCP or something nearby 😊

Novotel city centre has a pool x

There is a carpark at the Omni centre, not sure if 24hour, but close to Apex Waterloo Place and a number of Premier Inns etc. We found it very noisy there and breakfast a bit limited, didn't try the pool as only overnight, but stayed during Covid restrictions.
