Glasgow city centre hotel/aparthotels?

Going to book a Saturday night in January for me and DH. We really liked the Dakota when we stayed there last year but considering the time of year I think I'd prefer to be closer to Buchanan St/George Sq area as we always walk everywhere.

Any recommendations? We stayed in the Carlton George YEARS ago and it was fine but the breakfast wasn't great - the location and free mini bar are appealing though 😎

I'm just back from nights at the ibis styles in Waterloo street and I was impressed! Breakfast was lovely and there's a proper coffee machine you have access to during your stay, the hot chocolate was lovely! If you opt out of having your room serviced inbetween nights they give you a voucher for a free drink each at the bar.
I really liked the Scottish theme too x

I've just booked the Clayton Hotel for next week. It's only been open 3 weeks and is getting good reviews.

Native Glasgow apartments were great. Just off of George Square.

Yes agree Native is lovely, kitchen facilities and a lovely roof terrace off the room.

@hilbil21 have you stayed at the Clayton yet? Think it's the one we're leaning towards cause although the native looks lovely think we'd slightly prefer a hotel (and Clayton has good offers at the moment). Can't book till next weekend anyway cause we've run out of credit card funds...

Just left this morning. Stayed Friday and last night. Lovely hotel and no complaints. On booking.com it was pay at the property. I paid this morning Smile

decided to just go for it but had to book direct to get their black friday discount (cue juggling of payments across cards...). have gone with their romance by the river package 😂
