Ferry Deal Rigged

I will be watching this tonight. The clips in the article are damming enough.

"A leaked dossier has suggested the process of awarding a £97m Scottish ferries contract may have been rigged.
Documents obtained by BBC Disclosure indicate that successful bidder Ferguson Marine Engineering benefited from preferential treatment."

Aye it should be very...interesting...I regularly use what passes for a "lifeline service" to the islands, and it is beyond inadequate, regularly causing personal and business chaos. The report says the Glen Sannox is due in the Spring, I wonder if it'll arrive on time...given that it's already many years late...

And this 'desperation and muddle'

The Spectator magazine have published several articles recently about the poor performance of the SNP in awarding contracts for the construction and operation of Scotlands ferry services.
Certainly there exists the possibility that corruption has been largely responsible.

The calMac 424 page requirements document being leaked to only FMEL which they then cut and pasted from doesn't sound great! Neither does the Scottish govt announcing preferred bidder status without negotiations concluded.

Many muddles here, some we've seen before, rushing in without adherence to processes.

There's a shocker. Scottish government / SNP fuck something ELSE up. And cost us billions.

I’ve been following this in newspapers for last 2 years so glad it’s getting more scrutiny. For once John Swinney couldn’t blame Westminster . Thought Mark Daly could have skewered him a bit more . John Swinney said he’d been out to the Islands to hear their “ concerns” .
