AH for external candidate

Hey,

Im looking for a school or exam centre that would allow an external candidate to take the AH maths of mechanics exams. Unfortunately my sons school doesn’t offer it and won’t allow him to do the exam there if he were to self-learn the content. Any help would be appreciated.

thank you!

As far as I know there is no way of doing Scottish exams as an external candidate. You can take English exams here in Scotland at various private schools around the country.

Contact your local authority as they should be able to find a centre (school/college) to be a presenting centre. My DS2 knew someone years ago (South Lanarkshire) who did similar.

We have done this before and my advice is to go via your local school / authority. Colleges might help too.

Try your local college. I tutored a girl who was being presented as an external candidate by them - she had to pay for her presentation.

Glasgow Caledonian university has an advanced higher hub and I think that is one of the courses they offer. Maybe phone them?
