Relocating from Kent

Hi all,

I know there's lots of relocation threads but nothing seems to quite fit! We're currently under off down in Kent and planning to relocate up to the Stirling/Loch Lomond general area. We have a 12yr old son who I believe would be going into S1.

We've done some research and visiting, we love Dunblane and BofA but in general out of our price range (circa £350k, 3 or 4 bedrooms ideally, got a dog so need a garden of some sort).

We love the idea of being more rural, want to be able ideally to walk in the hills without needing to drive, or at least not far.

Considering the Hillfoots but really keen for suggestions on areas, comments on schools etc. Prices look a bit better in Clackmannan, Saline etc but not sure how accessible walking etc is. Further towards Loch Lomand also interesting, there's a house in Kilearn I quite like the look of

I would be mostly working remotely but probably travelling to Glasgow once or twice a week, hubby is a postman so hopefully would transfer to somewhere local.

What are your views/experiences of the areas mentioned? Anywhere else we should consider?

Thanks x

Kilearn is meant to be a really great place to live.

I’d look in areas that are in catchment for Balfron, or McLaren. You shd be able to get something for your price range.

Callander? McLaren High is excellent. Nice wee town, decent location shops and easy access Stirling for big supermarkets. Not a bad journey to Glasgow and fantastic countryside for walking.
