Hi I was wondering if anyone had applied for this yet and if so how they found the experience? I have never applied for PIP but had done a lot of reading planning to apply then this was announced so have requested the forms.

It sounds like they’re hoping it’s much less traumatic than the PIP process.

@mattresspring hi there! Thank you for your message.
Did you receive payment before your award letter came through? I’m currently awaiting a decision it has been 3 months and I’ve already provided 3 letters from professionals regarding my illness

mattresspring · 14/12/2022 13:25

Yes I did. I had a large back payment into the bank and it took another 2 weeks for the latter to arrive. I called them but they said they couldn't tell me anything. It was worse waiting for the award letter after having the back payment then it was before tbh.

Mumtotwoxo · 14/12/2022 19:21

@mattresspring what evidence did you provide all in total and if you don’t mind me asking when did you first apply?

Mumtotwoxo · 29/12/2022 14:35

@mattresspring hi there, just seeing if you are still on this thread and could help with some more information? Thank you x

mattresspring · 29/12/2022 19:14

Yes, still here!

I can't really say much more though. My award letter basically said 'you have told us X which is consistent with a diagnosis of Y/medication Z' type thing. I was mostly scared they wouldn't believe me having read so much about bad PIP applications, but I gave them everything I had from private assessments and then the GP had details of hospital appointments with specialists.

Hi is anyone still on this? Was wondering after a decision was made how long did it take for a back pay to be realised and letter to be received?

flagpie · 17/06/2023 11:25

My back pay was in before I knew I had been awarded. I waited 2 weeks for the letter to confirm the award

Jints156 · 10/07/2023 00:26

Hi everyone,
Was wondering if anyone has any idea how long it takes after they refer your case to one of their own practitioners for a case discussion? I am going into wk 19 and the wait is making me super anxious..
I think my condition is a complex one and quite rare it’s also not curable and was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience?
I would be grateful for any imput
thanks

Lovelyjubbbly · 10/07/2023 07:52

@Jints156 i had the same experience mine was also complex case! The sent mine for a case discussion then was advised by their own practitioners to speak to my GP! After speaking to my GP they had another case discussion all in it took around 6 and half weeks for this for a decision. Then got letter through failed 0 points on everything!! Very impossible why it could be 0 Points currently going through the process to ask them to look at it again. By the looks of it I will be appealing it for sure! Hope this helps.

Jints156 · 10/07/2023 21:28

Thank you for your reply. I spoke with ADP this morning on live chat and they said it was at the final stage of a decision but I said to them this is ridiculous as it says online 8 to 10 weeks and this is week 19 for me.Tbh the guy was really apologetic but I told him I was given it another few days and if nothing I was gonna complain I’ve sent everything they asked for and when I spoke with my case manager on the 1st of June she said she had everything she needed to make a decision..
Then today they same guy I spoke to on live chat called me and basicallly said they’ve made a decision and I should receive a letter in 5 to 10 days but wouldn’t obviously say if I’m getting it or not. Tbh I’m not holding out for a positive outcome but I will appeal if need be..

Lovelyjubbbly · 11/07/2023 06:56

@Jints156 yes the same thing happened to me my case manager called me and said a decision would be made within 2 weeks and would receive my letter within the 2 weeks also I thought it would be good news but wasn’t really shocked to be honest suppose to be very much more fairer but same experience I had with PIP when applied! They say sometimes get awarded nothing first attempted so I have a long journey ahead! Fingers crossed it’s good luck for you! 😊

Jints156 · 11/07/2023 08:21

@Lovelyjubbbly It’s a ridiculous time to wait for them to then turn around and say you’re not entitled to it for whatever reason.I for sure will appeal if refused..I have worked all my days and paid into the system my whole working life and basically had to give my job up due to my condition and GP advice.
Good luck to you going forward with your case.
I will let you know how I get on when I receive my letter but I’m not very hopeful it will be a positive outcome

Lovelyjubbbly · 11/07/2023 08:26

@Jints156 i know it really is ridiculous! I waited 6 and half months for a decision there hopeless! I took my to citizens advise to fill mine in for them to look at it again before the appeal process and the women was shocked and thought it must have just been someone recently just employed !! It’s so bad

Jints156 · 11/07/2023 21:29

@Lovelyjubbbly Thats shocking. I hope your appeal is successful and you get the outcome you were hoping for.
I actually had someone that my GP put me onto to help me complete my form back in February but you just never know.I submitted evidence from my GP and she pretty much covered everything in her letter. I’ve also sent in repeat prescriptions but the thing is my condition has got worse since I first sent in the application I was advised to update about that and increases to my medications and treatment which I have but who knows if any of that will be taking into consideration or if they’re just gonna go with the initial form..
I will keep you posted once I get my letter.

Hi I applied for adult disability back in march. They contacted me and asked me to provide more evidence which I did. Got a call from them on Monday to ask a question about my last hospital stay which I answered and my case worker said that was great everything was good to go and she’d submit it for final check that day or latest Tuesday morning and to expect my letter by end of week start of next week. I asked her if she could tell me how it went and she said she couldn’t tell me but did say she had taken very seriously the nature of my application (I have a brain tumour) and thought I’d be happy with what she had put forward. I was just wondering if anyone else has had a similar answer and was wondering how long it was before you received a payment or letter ? I’m led to believe you usually receive payment if you’ve got it before you get your letter is this correct? It’s been a long process and I’m just desperate to know the income one way or another. Any help appreciated xxx
